Welcome to Waimea Swimming Club

Waimea Swimming Club

Waimea Swimming Club is the oldest swimming club in Nelson. Established in 1906, we have a very proud heritage of being a fully volunteer, parent run club. Our coaches are all volunteers and give up their time to coach our swimmers. The club maintains a strong sense of community that swimmers and parents can be proud of.

The club operates out of the solar heated Waimea College outdoor pool in Richmond. We swim at the college pool over the summer season and use the Richmond Aquatic Centre over the winter season.

We have four squads: Gold (seniors), Silver, Bronze and Copper. Swimmers move up through the squads as their swimming proficiency increases.

Club swimming is great for people who want to extend their swimming beyond the traditional swim schools, and there is the option to compete both at a regional and national level if swimmers choose to (and qualify).

Most importantly at Waimea Swimming Club, regardless of age and ability, we have fun!

If you wish to join the club please go to the membership page orĀ contact us.
